Derived nominals of the type työ/tön ‘unemployed’ are very common. The

partitive singular is made from the basic form. The other inflected forms are

based on a stem wher -ton ~ -tön alternates with -ttoma- ~ -ttömä-. In the

plural -a-/-ä- is dropped (§16.7–8).
